TYPES OF DENTURES
There are several different types of dentures that are available for you to get.
Traditional
The first type of denture is the traditional dentures. These are going to be the complete set of dentures that are going to replace all of the teeth of the patient. They are going to set at the top of the gums unlike the bridges that are going to be anchored to the existing teeth. Most of the time, they are going to be placed about 12 weeks after the dentist was extracted the teeth.
Partial
The second type of denture is going to be the partial dentures. This is going to be used when the patient is still going to have some of their natural teeth. Most of the time, this is going to be for one or two teeth remain inside of the upper and lower jaw. There will be a base that is pink in color that is attached to a metal piece. Then the two pieces are what is going to hold the denture into place inside of the mouth. They are going to be very convenient because they are going to be removed. They will be made of acrylic.
Custom
The third type of denture is the customized dentures. These are going to be the most expensive of the dentures because you are going to have a more natural looking smile. You are going to be able to see the denture before it is completed, which means that you are going to be able to make any changes to the dentures if you don’t like them. This is why they are going to be customized for the smile that you want to have. Therefore, it is going to fit some of the needs that you have for your smile.
Immediate
The fourth type of denture is the immediate dentures. These are going to be the dentures that are going to be placed in your mouth as soon as the teeth have been removed or extracted. But the dentist is going to talk to you to decide if you are going to be a good candidate for this or not.
Implant
The fifth type of denture is the implant supported dentures. This means that the dental implant is going to be used to support the denture a little more securely. The denture is going to provide a great amount of support in order for it to have a solid foundation. This means that the denture is going to stay more securely in place. It is also going to look a lot more natural and it is going to last you for a long period of time. Of course, you are going to need to take care of these implants in order for them to last them as long as you want them to.
Snap-in
The sixth type of denture is the snap-in dentures. If you are looking for a lot of stability, then this is going to be the dentures that will be the most effective for you. They are going to be held in place by the dental implants or they will be anchored to the existing teeth. One of the main things that is going to make them so unique is where the attachments are going to be located. They will be attached within the tissue side of the denture. The locator will snap onto the implants or on the receptors of the locator. They are going to be removable like the partial dentures, which is one of the main reasons why they are going to be so convenient.
